This Christmas is so special. My oldest is 9 and IF he still believes in Santa he is probably halfway telling the truth or just not wanting to admit it. He knows our Elf, George, is not real and he has helped out with our shenanigans this year. The Christmas magic is coming to an end for him and honestly, it breaks my heart! For my 2 and 5-year-old the magic is still very real. When you have a child who is phasing out of this stage, so many thoughts and emotions come to mind. Although life with kids is crazy and days can be long,I am reminded that the years are so very short! Where did time go?
This year is also special because we will be spending our Christmas packed into our labor of love (our cabin) for the first time. Dickerson Hill is the PERFECT place to host Christmas. Fire(s) going, the smell of a real Christmas tree, coffee with slow mornings, an endless supply of s’mores and hot chocolate, and just the feeling of togetherness. This year we will start a new tradition and camp out at the cabin with my brothers and the rest of my family, and I could not be happier about it!
And speaking of traditions, one of my favorites is to send Christmas Cards! I equally love receiving them! And if I could send one to every single one of you I would!!! Christmas cards are just my thing! I need to do a “looking back” post because I have done them for 11 years now and every year I try to be creative and different! Brooke with Paperlilly Photography rocked out our family pictures this year at the cabin, and Jenny, my business partner with STARTplanner, designed my cards!
Here is my “pack” for 2017! And yes I LOVE being queen and the only lady in the house!
And yes three boys… it is nuts 99% of the time. That is why I love these pictures because it is just them being them!
I found these pillows on Society 6 for the bunk room and I just thought how cute.
Roman is the fox with glasses, August is the bear, me just trying to spread good vibes, Silas (who is crying behind that pillow… shhhh) is the baby deer, and Jeremy is the old wise owl…. or so he says 😉
Thank you all for following along and being a part of my tribe. I hope if you are in a good place this year you soak up Christmas. If you are not in a good place for one reason or another I am thinking about you. I have experienced seasons where I didn’t even want to celebrate Christmas due to health scares or deaths. Now, the older and wiser me knows there is a silver lining in everything and I hope yours is right around the corner. Merry Christmas from my family to yours! Love you guys!
Kristy and all the boys!
